A Gift from my Grandpa set me out on a lifetime QUEST

My Grandfather pasted away when I was 5 years old. It was during his passing from the veil of the physical to the spiritual that he remained in the house for the next two weeks. My sister 6, my cousin 6 and myself 5, had gone upstairs outside Nona and Grandpa's bedroom. They thought they'd play a joke one me to scare me. So it was kind of a dare to look into the keyhole of the bedroom. My cousin went first, but what she saw surprised her.
Grandpa was in the bed and looked towards her. However, she did not say a word. My sister was next and saw him getting out of bed. Neither one said anything. Now it was my turn, as Grandpa approached the door, I think I screamed as we all ran down the stairs - then we told each other what we saw. Of course we ran to the adults. That was a mistake! It was only our "imagination", and if we spoke about it again, we'd be in big trouble said the adults.

Once we calmed down, we realized Grandpa was not going to hurt us, so we went looking for him. It was a very big house to find our "imagination". We would see the smoke from his pipe. Sometimes only smelled it. We'd see him sitting in his favorite chair in the living room with his pipe. Sometimes he's be in the family library, but he was with us for two weeks.

Early one evening, it felt different in the house, couldn't really feel Grandpa any more. I had looked out the window on the landing and under the lamppost there he stood. There my Grandpa stood, smiled, waved and slowly vanished.

I didn't know it then, but the gift my Grandfather gave me was the knowledge that we do not die like people think. Our energy just transforms. We still exist. Needless to say, Grandpa set me on a lifelong journey to wanting to know, how, where, what really happens.
Yes, he still visits from time to time. He also gave me the "design" gene.
I am Blessed that my Grandparents are always with me.
